With Valentine's day quickly approaching I wanted to talk about dating.

Biggest Dating Lies

Biggest Dating Lies

When it comes to love there is something that can get in the way of you finding the right person. That thing is you and the biggest dating lies that you tell yourself.

I came across an article today talking about those lies.

Source Match.com on Yahoo – Top 5 dating lies women tell themselves

"When it comes to looking for love, many women hear a non-stop chorus

of criticism echoing in their heads (usually voiced in tones that sound

suspiciously like the mean girls lurking in locker rooms of junior high schools nationwide)."

The first of the biggest dating lies is there are no good men to date.

Not all men are the same.

It's unfair to compare a new man to the last one that you dated.

The article suggest that you give yourself something new to say that will change your mind

set.

"Begin telling yourself that there are amazing, interesting, deep, soul-filled men out there."

The second of the biggest dating lies is it's to late for me to find love.

The article go on to say "Your mind fills with excuses as to why you shouldn’t put yourself back out there, and you end up

procrastinating in your search for The One."

You may not say this out loud but your actions show that you feel this way.

It doesn't matter how old you are God has some one for you if you just believe that it is

possible.

The third of the biggest dating lies is I'm too (your insecurity) for anyone to love me.

The lies we tell ourselves about relationships carryover into other areas of life.

These lies become our truth.

The fourth of the biggest dating lies is that I need another person in my life to feel complete.

We need to first love ourselves to over come this biggest dating lie.

The article suggest that you instead look for someone to compliment you and not complete you.

The last of the biggest dating lies is that I can change my date into the ideal mate.

This lie can get you in a lot of trouble.

There is no perfect person including you.

You will end up heart-broken because you can't correct your own flaws let alone someone elses.

The biggest dating lies can cause you to blow your budget going shopping to make you feel better.

The biggest dating lies can lead you to debt trying to make a Mr. Right.  Buying him clothes or a phone for example so that he has

the image you want.

The biggest dating lies are that you have to be at certain places to meet the right person.

The biggest dating lies are that your life will be like the movies you watch.

Stop looking for the fairy tale.

What are the biggest dating lies that you are telling yourself???
