Part of the song states "and I choose to be the best that I can be I choose to be authentic in everything that I do, my past don't dictate who I am I choose."

Most people listen with the intent to comment on what the person is saying. 

Instead of waiting for them to finish their thought. 

Sometimes they don't want your opinion.  They just want your ear.
