Reasons to Skip Black Friday Sales

I have only gone out on Black Friday twice.

The first time the book shelf stereo I was looking for was not available and I bought another model.

I ended up taking it back and buying what I wanted somewhere else.

The second time I went to an outlet mall.  We set on the highway for 2 hours.

When we got there we had to walk along way.  The lines were long.  The sales went on for a week.  I didn't have to waste all that time trying to buy things that were going to remain on sale.

I was sleepy at work the next day.

These are my Reasons to Skip Black Friday Sales.

I was online and saw this article that I thought would help people avoid the hype of Black Friday.

Source Yahoo Finance – 5 Reasons to Skip Black Friday Sales

1. Many discounts will continue long after Black Friday is over. The first of five reasons to skip Black Friday sales.

Many of the door buster deals will be for a limited time and quantity of supply.   There will be many deals that will continue long after Black Friday is over.  Some retailers are offering free shipping with your online purchase.

2.The best deals are only available to a few people.  The second of five reasons to skip Black Friday sales.

I have a friend that works for a popular retailer.  They told me that the store only purchased 29 stock items of each door buster for the big sale.  So if you aren't the first 29 people in line you will probably not get the item.

Be sure to look at the fine print on the ad to see how many items will be available.

3.When you do score a discount, it often just leads to more spending. The third of five reasons to skip Black Friday sales.

Research shows that shopping leads to more shopping.

When I would go out shopping my intentions were to buy things on sales.  Then I would rationalize with myself about the things that were not on sale saying that my size wouldn't be there when I came back.

No matter what you tell yourself to justify the spending only leads to debt and unwanted purchases.

It's hard to only go buy one thing and leave the story.  I can do it now.  But it takes work to get pass the things that go through my mind.

4. Sales that get you to buy something you wouldn't have purchased otherwise are not good deals.  The fourth of five reasons to skip Black Friday sales.

Buy the things that you would noramlly buy with or without a discount.

The article talks about a woman bragging about how much she saved on a pair of shoes that she didn't need.

Spending just because it's on sale is addictive.

This type of spending can lead to massive debt.

5. Frenzied buying almost never leads to smart shopping. The fifth of five reasons to skip Black Friday sales.

Making quick decisions about deals leads to over spending and piling up charges on your credit cards.

This happens to people when they go out for the Black Friday, One Day sales and etc.

There are many things that you can do to avoid  the Black Friday hype.

Pull out your Christmas tree and decorate.

You can work on a project at home that you have been putting off.

Volunteer at your church or local organization this weekend to give back.

Relax and enjoy your family.

There will be many deals from now until Christmas.

Be patient and pace your spending.

Before you go shopping make a list.

Plan a budget of what you will spend for each person.

Avoid applying for unnecessary credit.

Only charge what you can afford to pay off when the bill comes to keep from accunliating debt.

You can come up with your own reasons to skip Black Friday sales.
